1.
Tribes of people Without walls Without words, windows, clothes They aren’t naked, they aren’t silent They don’t see in what they can’t see out A million little rooms With curtains tightly drawn What we watch for at day We become at night Chorus: (x4) What we watch for at day We become at night Tribes of people, who become The animals, they dream about My brother has a car It is his private part Even in America we are watched Watch each other like the clock Even in America we are watched Watch each other like the clock Chorus
2.
Bones 03:28
Move those bones Shake those bones Sway on those bones Give way, to those bones Move those bones Shake those bones Sway on those bones Give way, to those bones Bones, from out of the closet … moving Bones in the night, lit up by the moon Where are you going? Move those bones Shake those bones Sway on those bones Give way, to those bones Bones in the meat Move across the floor And focus on the foot bone Bones on the prowl Swinging on their hinges Well, look at the hips move Shake those bones (x4)

More Alike 03:53
When our team goes out to bowl When we go to the shopping mall When we're riding on the bus We will look more alike We will look more alike Standing on line at the bank Someone notices my tie Say yeah this kinda looks like yours I got it at a Kmart We will look more alike Chorus: We will look more alike We will look more and more alike We will look more alike Sally puts on a wig Betty puts on her shoes Lois puts on eyelashes Mary puts on a belt Don your identity, don your identity Rely on your neighbor for the correct century Sam takes a diet pill Bob shaves his face Gus eats bran buds Fred puts on a hair piece Products are like fate Products are like fate Products are like a fate in which we will look alike When our team goes out to bowl When we go to the shopping mall When we're riding on the bus We will look more alike (Chorus)
4.
One man does it with his head One man does it with his hands One man does it with his feet on the ground One man does it sitting down Chorus: Blue or White (x2) One man does it with his car One man does it with his hoe One man does it with his tie on One man does it with his boots on Chorus One man goes to jail One man goes to the bank One man plays by the rules That the other makes Chorus

From up on a hill I see the big ones go to work And the little ones go to school Holding boxes I walk around the streets And listen to what they’re saying Trying to think Of what’s missing I put a scar on my face I gave myself a physical change Now everyone knows What I stand for Chorus: (x3) Were there straight lines Were there straight lines Was it such a straight line Before man came around
7.
Jack 03:30
I know this guy named Jack The expert on what’s good and bad Though he doesn’t do anything but give his opinion You have to respect the fact That Jack is cool and cool people know best That Jack is cool and cool people know best Chorus: Run Jack Run Run Jack Run Can he keep up with the pace Run Jack Run Jack knows the difference between good and bad He says that bad is when your stomach is full Says “it’s a fine line” And he knows all lines All the lines, All the lines Chorus Jack thinks he makes you or breaks you He thinks he creates a scene But all he does is talk about The things he wants to be, he wants to be Chorus
8.
I been walking Around all day And I just found That funky thing on my shoe It’s all over the ground I been walking Around all day And I just found That funky thing on my shoe It’s all over the ground Chorus: Get that funky thing off of my shoe Get that funky thing off of my shoe Trying to shake it Kick it, scrape it Off of my shoe Get it off of my shoe I took it to the nightclub To the barbecue Now I got to get that Funky thing, off of my shoe (Chorus) Find me a doormat And I’ll twist and shake Find me a curb I’ll scrape off this mistake Get the funky thing, off of my shoe (3) Get that funky thing off of my shoe
9.
Warpaint 05:22
It’s hard to get away From that cloud up there That thin wind Won’t make it disappear It’s hard to get away From that cloud up there A silhouette or shadow What does it matter They have old reasons To use new weapons Technically dressed For primitive action The things they do For territory and religion Without giving us Any real protection Warpaint – not on the face Warpaint – still in the heart I’ll read the last page first It can’t get much worse I’ll read the last page first It can’t get much worse Tomorrow Tomorrow Tomorrows promise is us Tomorrows not promised us Tomorrow (etc.) Like a rodent I’ll dig a hole to live in This is not the way I want to meet mother nature This is not the way I want to meet three sisters This is not the way I want to hold a conversation And everytime you leave I give you pitying eyes And more than your share Of good byes Warpaint - not on the face Warpaint – still in the heart (chorus)
10.
Your Face 03:14
I see your face (x2) I smell your smell (x2) I hear your voice (x2) But you're not here You’re not, here Chorus: Your face (repeated) Your look is just a gesture Oh but what it does to me I don't care about eating Unless you're the waitress I don't care about money Unless you're the teller I don't care about fashion Unless you're the tailor I don't care about sleeping Unless you're in my dreams (x2) (Chorus)

Eyes that meet from across the street Split second encounters that seldom repeat For all the different things men think Their actions seem so few and similar Fall into step with men That are silent with ideas Think about your partner Peek at your partner Join the sidewalk reel Chorus: (x2) The buildings get taller The people get smaller Step by step through generations The sidewalks start to fill Join the sidewalk reel Shuffle down Broadway at night Like moths attracted to the light For all the different things men like Their actions seem so few and similar Fall into step with men that are silent with ideas Think about your partner Peek at your partner Join the sidewalk reel

about

In 1981 the legendary Bill Nelson @billnelson.bandcamp.com (of Be-Bop Deluxe, etc. fame) left his family in England and flew to SF, on his own dime, slept on (UNITS) Rachel & Scott’s couch in their 1 bedroom Castro District apartment for two weeks, in order to play on and co-produce (with Rachel & Scott) the UNITS new album, Animals They Dream About.
Due to label problems at the time, the album wasn’t released until 35 years later in 2016 on CD and vinyl at Futurismo Records. The CD and vinyl are currently sold out.
